Garden Deva in Times of COVID

New hope, new ideas! It’s been quite a year so far at Garden Deva Sculpture. Last Autumn, we moved our gallery (gift shops Tulsa) and website sales to a new platform that had greatly improved our ability to fulfill orders. It could not have happened at a better time!

As the Spring of 2020 rolled in, we had to close the gallery of our gift shops Tulsa to foot traffic in order to protect our customers and our team, making our new website our lifeline to remain in business. We implemented contact-free product pick-up. You can order online and pick up at the gallery at a designated place. We also separated artists and production as much as possible, with staggered hours and working together to remain as physically distant from each other as possible.

We then had time to make changes to our workshops which are popular events for those of you who enjoy creating beautiful pieces for your homes, families and friends. One of the newest changes to our gift shops Tulsa is that you can book our workshops and classes directly on our website. Please take a look and see details of each workshop.

Our metal workshops offer participants a chance to design two pieces, cut them from metal with a plasma torch, and weld the pieces as needed to complete the design. All hands-on! We had previously limited classes to eight participants per class. Today, we can have five people at a time attend the metal workshop and maintain safe social distancing. We offer the metal workshops two weekends a month with morning and afternoon sessions.

Our jewelry workshop is taught by Bruce Carter of Tall Grass Designs, a member of the prestigious and exclusive American Crafts Council. His classes include enameling, metal stamping, ring making, and form folding, to name a few. Participants create jewelry that they have handcrafted and the pieces are just beautiful. Many people take several classes to round out their new skills and create ever more intricate items. You can check out our gift shops Tulsa website at www.gardendeva.com to see his current class schedules. Bruce has reconfigured his workspaces so that each person is at an appropriate distance from others.

We can offer small, socially distanced workshops for business team-building, private groups (birthdays, bridal parties, etc.), and schools. We are happy to work with you to design a workshop that will be affordable, entertaining and enhance your creative skills.

This Spring, so many of our customers and their children and grandchildren were finding lots of time to spend at home. So, we began offering wind chime kits that are still popular even as we are all moving about town a little more often. You can choose your Deva-designed centerpiece and the bead color family. We provide an online video teaching how to assemble the wind chimes. And of course, some customers add touches of their own, such as adding even more beads or painting the different hanging elements. Every single wind chime is unique. Please remember the wind chime kits as the Christmas season approaches and stop by our gift shops Tulsa to see all the options or go online! We’ll have holiday wind chimes and wind chime kits available soon.

When we were able to reopen the gallery, we put extra cleaning procedures in place, made face masks available for customers who did not have one, and installed a Plexiglass barrier at the register. Please feel free to meander around in the gift shops Tulsa. We’d love to see you.

We were sad to miss our annual Spring Fling in April, and our Artists of The Deva event in May, but we all felt safer for it. This month, we had an outdoor Yard Sale at our gift shops Tulsa to allow for safe shopping and entertainment. Many, many Deva pieces and our register was outside and it surely felt wonderful to see so many we’ve missed! We all enjoyed music, beverages and a food truck. It was as fun and as safe as we could possibly make it for everyone!

As the Autumn season approaches, we are anticipating our annual Open Studio in November. We will have our new Christmas and holiday items available then. We’ll also offer the art and crafts of other artists. We invite you to attend our gift shops Tulsa. You will see some fabulous products just in time for the gift-giving season. We will again do our very best to make sure everyone has a wonderful time and is as safe as we can make it!

We all are experiencing a new normal and are adjusting as time goes on. For those of you who are vulnerable or just cautious, you can still order from our website and request contactless pickup. Our gift shops Tulsa is never very crowded during the day, so please feel free to visit us inside as well. If you visit, please be assured that our team is concentrating on social distancing and cleanliness.

If you have a custom order in mind and need extra space to feel comfortable, we can meet with you one-on-one in our container gallery (also Bruce’s workshop). If you can imagine a metal art piece, we can probably make it!

We are so happy to have survived the community as the gift shops Tulsa during this challenging time and give credit to Tulsans for being so loyal to our community and the small businesses within it. Thank you so much for your patience as we’ve implemented so many good changes this year. We look forward to what this next season has to offer.
